Rondo
Rondo: ~10-year-old male
Wheaten Cairn Terrier
Good with children
Housebroken
Crate Trained
Known Health or Behavior Concerns: Rondo is selective with getting along with other dogs, and has shown a consistent dislike for large dogs, so a home where he gets to be the center of attention might be an ideal choice.
Rondo's Story
Rondo knew one family for most of his life, but when one of his humans passed away and the other was relocating, things got very shaken up and Rondo and his canine companion ended up with us. At first the two were inseparable, but with time, we realized they were fairly independent.
Anyone who has known or loved a terrier before knows they have quite the boisterous little personalities, and that's definitely the case for Ronnie! He loves going for walks and chasing squirrels. He's both potty trained and crate trained, and loves an adventure just as much as he loves having a lap to sit on. He's a sweet and silly little man who needs someone to love him in his golden years.
Rondo is up-to-date on his vaccinations, and has been neutered. He is a senior boy who has some lumps and bumps, but his vet is not concerned about his health. In his time in a couple foster homes and through home visits Rondo has shown aggressive behavior toward dogs larger than him, but also an unpredictability with other small dogs. His foster mom has also indicated his hearing is on its way out, which has made training more difficult. For the time being at least, we're looking for a home with no other pets as we continue working with him.
